Oh my gosh are you in for a treat and a half today! You are going to LOVE this Talented Tuesday's artist! Meet Danish artist Julie Marie Dyrholm Hansen. She lives in Australia and she is a fluid artist that specializes in alcohol inks.
Julie comes from a creative family and has been practicing creativity her whole life. But she did not start getting serious with her paintings until about six months ago when she discovered alcohol ink. She became instantly fascinated with the range and depth of the colors and how uncontrollable this medium can be.
As you can see, there is so much depth to her work. Julie likes to experiment with colors and often gets inspired by her surroundings, both in Denmark as well as Australia. This is why you will see a lot of patterns in her paintings that you would see in nature - like coral reef, eucalyptus, bark and flowers.
Sometimes the designs she comes up with start off by accident especially with the nature of the fluidity of the ink. But because she is such a great artist, she has no problem turning them into works of art. She even paints when she is on the plane!
Julie's favorite materials are alcohol ink, copic ink, Posca Pen ad Yupo Paper. She first starts with laying down the base. The colors splash across the page with a fluidity of a dancer. She then uses a white marker to add the line work - which is exquisite.
Most of her work is for sale. You can find it on her newly opened and beautiful Etsy Shop. If you are interested I have placed links to her shop as well as her Instagram page below. She sells prints of her artwork and is looking into creating cards soon! Won't her work look amazing on cards?!!!
